Shocking Audiences Nationwide, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was released on the general public in the 1970's. The Graphic content and explicit gore for that time was un-matched, and to add to the confusion it was supposedly "Based on a True Story". It kind of was. Based loosely on the serial killer Ed Gein, TCM is a tale of a cannabalistic family who resides in the deep swamps of Texas. A crazy hitchhiker, a half-dead grandfather, a sick soup man, and a being who wears human flesh over his face. He would later be named, LeatherFace, and the way you look at chainsaw's is forever changed.

Summary and Reviews:

The first massacre starts in the late 70's in the far reaches of Texas, where a few lone travelers offer a good gester and pick up a hitchhiker. Soon he turns crazy, and attacks the teens in the van. They drop him off and head to a gas station to fuel, unknowing the crazy man has marked the van in blood...marked it with death. And so It begins, a journey into terror as the group is rounded up for a human meal for the Insane family. They are tortured one by one and cut to bits for food, but one escapes, and tells her tale of horror to the authorities. Tells a tale of Cannabals who tortured her friends. Tells of a country house in the swamps where they do all their bidding. No bodies where ever recovered, and still, to this day, no house has been found.

If you think about TCM 1 it gets to you. The horror in it at today's standards isn't that impressive, but just think about what it was like back then. I'd have to say this is a good scary movie. 5 of 5 Stars.

Texas Ranger Lefty Enright has been obsessed with finding the murderers who killed his brother's children in the previous one. A tough disc jockey over hears a murder on the radio and presents Lefty with the evidence in hope of finding the killers...Now the search is on, for the Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. The family's back, and they have a more hideous dwelling than before!

Texas 2 was a really funny/scary horror movie. The idea behind it was sick, but the family was so psychotic that they made it laughable. Dennis Hopper as Lefty is hilarious, so check this one out. 4 of 5 Stars.

LeatherFace: TCM 3, is trying to bring back the darkness of the original. There's not really any comedy, and it's somewhat interesting. Another group runs into the house in the original, finds the family and has to escape. There's some twists and turns but nothing to get excited about. 3 of 5 Stars.

TCM: The Next Generation is a modern remake of the original kinda. It has some A-list actors in it, but doesn't really make out to be a real TCM movie. It's got Leatherface, although he's a crossdresser in this one (sorry fans), and gramps, and some new wackos, but the ending is pointless, and you hope they'll make another one to save this. 2 of 5 Stars.
